CAD Designer, Texas Institute for Electronics
The University of Texas at Austin is home to the Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE), a leading semiconductor consortium. The CAD Designer will create precise technical drawings and maintain CAD files, collaborating with engineers to support advanced semiconductor manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities
Develop detailed technical drawings and 3D models with precision and accuracy
Update and revise existing drawings to reflect changes and modifications
Maintain organized CAD files and documentation for ongoing projects
Oversee document control for released drawings and Bill of Materials
Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret design concepts
Other related functions as assigned
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in CAD design, drafting, or related fields
Proficiency in CAD software
Basic understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ISO drafting standards
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
Preferred
Associate's degree or higher
Additional certifications in CAD software or design principles
Experience in the semiconductor industry
Proficiency in Creo
Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software
Experience with fabricated part procurement and vendor discussions
