Responsibilities
The Laboratory Assistant performs specimen procurement, accessioning, processing and testing as assigned under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)
Provides phlebotomy (venipuncture and skin puncture) to inpatients and outpatients
Qualification
Required
Phlebotomy or skin puncture techniques on patients ranging from infancy through adult
Written and verbal communication
Basic organizational skills
Basic computer skills
Must have a current phlebotomy certification
Valid BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required
Preferred
Experience with operating some laboratory equipment and setting up cultures
Experience with computer data entry
