Certified Appraiser

Western AgCredit is a long-standing agricultural lending service provider in Utah and surrounding states. They are seeking a Certified Appraiser to conduct real property appraisals and provide valuable insights to credit specialists. Responsibilities

Conduct appraisals of real property to determine value using the cost, income, and sales comparison approaches to value
Conduct on-site real estate appraisals of loan collateral and acquired property
Provide credit specialists (commercial and mortgage) relevant information to aid in their decision-making process
Develop and maintain comparable sales information in the Association database
Analyze and report sales data
Update market area surveys
Research water rights
Map legal descriptions
Obtain property information from various counties
Inspect livestock, feed, and equipment inventories
Perform real property inspections
Complete valuations of personal property collateral
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

BS degree in an agriculture or business-related field
Current state certified general appraiser license
In good standing in the state(s) that issued the license and in compliance with continuing and/or qualifying education requirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience in real estate valuation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to generate highly accurate work with proficiency in the use of a PC, including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and appraisal-related software, including the use of automated valuation models
Ability to interact effectively and work well with people at all levels of the organization
Strong communication skills and the ability to represent the Association to customers and the public in an effective manner
Ability to convey ideas clearly through written and verbal communication
Skills in planning and organization
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Strong analytical skills and sound judgment
Mobility on unimproved properties
Ability to lift 40 pounds or more
Some travel is required in the performance of duties

Preferred

Knowledge and understanding of Farm Credit Regulations and production agriculture
Knowledge and understanding of government farm programs, commodity pricing, tax laws, water rights, grazing rights, fertility programs, etc., as they apply to the agricultural property ownership
