The Lighting Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of indoor and outdoor lighting systems to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

Utilities

Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of lighting systems to identify issues and potential improvements
Perform routine maintenance, including bulb replacement, fixture cleaning, and minor electrical repairs
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning lighting fixtures, ballasts, and wiring
Troubleshoot electrical problems and restore systems to proper working condition
Replace outdated or faulty lighting components and assist with system upgrades
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment specifications
Communicate with clients to understand lighting needs and provide excellent customer service
Operate bucket trucks for elevated work (up to 40 ft)
Follow all company safety protocols and participate in safety training
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of electrical systems, lighting components, and safety protocols
Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card
Valid driver's license
Must pass drug screening, alcohol test, background check, and MVR check
Willingness to travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods in various locations
Available to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as required
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, and standing for extended periods
Comfortable working at heights up to 40 ft using a bucket truck
Use of hand and power tools involving substantial hand, wrist, and finger movement
Must be able to wear and operate all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Preferred

Previous experience as a Lighting Technician or similar role
Certification in electrical maintenance or related field
CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
