Principal Product Management, Search
Thomson Reuters is a global leader in providing trusted content and technology solutions. They are seeking a Principal Technical Product Manager to define and lead the roadmap for scaling AI-powered search capabilities, focusing on advanced search systems and driving agentic workflows.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the vision, system design, and feature set for global AI-powered search capabilities, encompassing unified indexing, graph-based data retrieval, structured data retrieval, and agent-driven workflows
Devise business plans for budgetary approvals that enable next-generation search experiences, ensuring scalability, performance, and innovation
Lead technical strategy and architecture decisions, partnering with engineering and data teams to translate complex requirements into actionable plans
Drive innovation and differentiation across search propositions to meet the current and future needs of clients
Own product strategy and roadmap, making informed trade-offs on features and functionality for strategic initiatives
Evaluate build vs. buy opportunities for advanced search components and manage partnerships with third-party providers as needed
Support business teams with key presentations, strategy updates, and stakeholder communications
Manage execution and resource planning to ensure the successful delivery of roadmap priorities
Stay ahead of industry trends in AI, search technologies, and knowledge systems to inform product direction
Qualification
Required
Deep understanding of search technologies, information retrieval, and AI-driven systems
Hands-on experience with large-scale indexing, graph-based search, and structured data retrieval
Familiarity with modern AI/ML frameworks, LLMs, and agentic workflows
Proven ability to define and execute product strategies for complex technical domains
Skilled at balancing innovation with scalability and performance requirements
Comfortable making build vs. buy decisions and managing vendor relationships
Track record of owning end-to-end product lifecycle—from ideation to delivery
Strong prioritization skills to make informed trade-offs across competing initiatives
Experience in roadmap planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder alignment
Exceptional ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable plans for diverse audiences
Adept at influencing cross-functional teams and driving consensus on architecture and design decisions
Skilled in preparing executive-level presentations and strategy updates
Passion for staying ahead of trends in AI, search, and knowledge systems
Ability to identify emerging technologies and incorporate them into long-term product vision
Preferred
10+ years in technical product management or related roles, with at least 5 years focused on search or AI systems
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience working in global, enterprise-scale environments
