Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, and other fire safety equipment
Perform routine checks to ensure all fire safety systems are operational and compliant with relevant codes and standards
Act as a first responder during fire emergencies, assisting in evacuation procedures and collaborating with emergency response teams
Conduct regular fire drills to ensure staff awareness and preparedness
Conduct regular inspections of hospital facilities to identify and address potential fire hazards
Repair and maintain fire safety equipment, including fire doors, emergency lighting, and evacuation signage
Provide training to hospital staff on fire safety protocols, evacuation procedures, and the proper use of firefighting equipment
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and emergency response actions

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
Fireman 2nd Class [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Fire Services required
Hoisting Engineer [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Public Safety and Inspections Division required
Experience in fire safety or emergency response or similar role, preferably within a healthcare setting 2-3 years required
Knowledge of local and national fire safety codes and regulations
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team
Ability to stay calm and collected during an emergency or crisis

Preferred

Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
Experience in fire safety or emergency response or similar role, preferably within a healthcare setting
