Facilities Control Engineer I or II, Texas Institute for Electronics

Responsibilities
Design, install and operate PLC controllers and field instruments to include PLC programming, installation and calibration of various types of instruments for continuous operation and accurate and reliable data collection of various building utility systems
Troubleshoot control systems due to unstable operations or equipment failure and remedy the problem via equipment replacement and/or modifying PLC loop tuning parameters and/or programming to improve system performance
Use Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID documents to properly design, install, and commission a variety of equipment used to operate and control building utility systems
Provide oversight of the building control systems with a focus on safety, operational reliability and security
Other related functions as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field
At least two years' experience in control systems engineering, design and construction
Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field
More than two years' experience in control systems engineering, design and construction
General knowledge of building systems and an understanding of how building control systems are integrated with these systems
Ability to troubleshoot control systems due to unstable operations or equipment failure and remedy the problem via equipment replacement and/or modifying PLC loop tuning parameters and/or programming to improve system performance
Ability to use Process Flow Diagrams and P&ID documents to properly design, install and commission a variety of equipment used to operate and control building utility systems

Proficient with PC hardware, windows-based applications and AutoCAD Revit
Ability to understand, review and provide input on construction drawings
Ability to analyze existing systems and associated monitoring equipment to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Ability to develop and update Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Sequence of Operations, I/O lists, panel drawings and instrumentations lists
