Student Program Coordinator, Texas McCombs

Responsibilities
Advise Canfield Business Honors Program students, individually and in groups, including dual degree program students, in order to provide timely information on course/degree options and University policies, and make referrals as necessary. Represent Canfield BHP in weekly BBA advising meetings and in orientation planning meetings
Plan and facilitate Canfield BHP cohort programs that promote academic and leadership development. Develop partnerships both internally and externally for experiential learning, global experiences, and other enrichment opportunities that enhance student college-to-career success. Assist with the peer mentor program and Freshman Leadership Kickoff
Oversee the Business Honors retention process and organize programs for student success such as Supplemental Instruction, academic boot camps, and individualized academic counseling
Assist with Canfield BHP sponsored student groups and programs associated with each group
Participate in Canfield BHP admissions process by reading applications and attending recruiting events as needed
Assist Assistant Director with designing measures and maintaining databases to evaluate student engagement and college-to-career outcomes. Acquire and maintain comparative data from peer and aspirational programs/schools. Track and analyze program effectiveness to advance strategic initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience coordinating a program and performing complex administrative functions in an academic setting
Experience working with college students in an advisory, program coordination, or administrative capacity
Effective interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills
Ability and willingness to work independently and as a supportive team member
Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and follow-through ability
Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, and attention to detail and accuracy
Diplomacy and sound judgment in working with students, families, staff, faculty, and administrators
Excellent attention to detail
Preferred
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and establish rapport with varied stakeholders
Previous experience working in a higher education environment
Previous experience with academic advising and event management
Familiarity with UT procedures, including financial transactions

Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
