GAF Commercial is a leader in the commercial roofing industry, dedicated to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The Summer Intern for Siplast will support the R&D function, working closely with scientists to design experiments and analyze data for new roofing products.

Responsibilities

Learn, be curious and brainstorm on potential new ideas for optimizing commercial roofing products and systems that will bring value to the end users (Architects, Roof Contractors, Consultants)

Design and perform experiments with moderate to heavy supervision, interprets and evaluates data, contributes to written reports

Collect, analyze and present scientific data to key stakeholders and senior management

Required

Major in chemistry, polymer science, engineering or related fields. Preferably with a sophomore standing

GPA of 3.0

Ability to travel and visit plants or customer sites as needed (10% time)

Ability to participate from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, without visa sponsorship now and in the future

Preferred

Candidates with experiences related to lab environment are preferred

Creativity and willingness to learn and have fun driving new product innovations

Ability to gather and understand customer insights and translate them into meaningful new solution development opportunities

Hands-on skills through prototype building and testing of new product concepts

Excellent communication skills
