Instructional Designer - HCII - School of Computer Science

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to support the design and development of online instructional courses for the Learning Science for Innovators Project, focusing on enhancing educational technology products for Africa.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts in the planning, design, development, and evaluation of pedagogically (and andragogically) sound courses
Creating digital instructional assets that align with program goals and course learning objectives
Create engaging learning activities/interactive content that supports learning
Mapping learning objectives to skills in instructional activities
Analyzing instructional assets and course data and effectively employing evidence-based research to continuously improve learning outcomes at the course, module, and instructional activity level
Staying abreast of emerging technology developments, potential pedagogical applications, and associated educational research
Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods
Research potential use of new technologies to enhance the online learning experience
Produce professional audio/visual content with input from subject matter experts to be embedded in online courses
Qualification
Required
A master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related field required
2+ years of experience implementing fully online courses, blended courses, and/or instructional components/assets (an online portfolio demonstrating related work/past projects)
Demonstrated knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
Experience in lesson development and curriculum planning
Experience working within a Learning Management System
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
Experience promoting the effective use of educational technology across formal and informal learning spaces
Ability to consult with instructors across disciplines and contexts
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in settings of social and intellectual diversity
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
Experience in Quality Matters or related course quality evaluation method
A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
