Stationary Engineer, Central Plant - Plant Operations - Full Time - Night Shift

The Stationary Engineer is responsible for operating machinery that provides mechanical power and utility services to the medical center, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment functionality.

Responsibilities
Start up and shut down equipment as required
Monitors meters, gauges, and other instruments attached to equipment and makes adjustments whenever necessary
Watches and listens to the machinery and routinely checks safety devices
Tests boiler water, condenser water, and closed systems and chemically treats, as necessary, to prevent corrosion, scale, and biohazards
Repair equipment, ranging from complete overhauls to minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing defective valves, gaskets, or bearings
Cleans and paints equipment rooms and machinery
Basic computer skills are required. Must understand Microsoft windows and Building Management System programs
Responsible for equipment providing steam, chilled water, industrial and medical gases, water pressure, primary cooling, and incineration
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma/GED - Required
Two (2) plus years' at an apprentice level of the craft or trade experience
Electrical and Mechanical background
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Computer proficiency is a requirement
City of LA Unlimited Steam Engineering License
EPA Type I & II or Universal Certification
