Research Faculty - Computational Psychiatry - Open Rank and Track

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking several faculty members in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health to enhance their research mission in computational psychiatry. The role involves understanding mental health conditions through statistical and computational approaches and contributing to training, research, and scholarly pursuits within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Join a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and scientists in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health
Contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits
Develop and evaluate tools for more accurate and rapid diagnosis
Evaluate and implement statistical knowledge to enhance knowledge of mental health diseases and care
Evaluate the effectiveness of mental health treatments using diverse clinical trial designs

Required

Current federal funding and research experience suggesting capability to attain consistent extramural funding is required
Candidates must have a strong record of external research funding (and/or strong evidence of interest and capability in pursuing such funding and work)
Candidates must have expertise in developing, leading or substantially contributing to education and research programs concerning computational psychiatry
Candidates must have earned a doctor of medicine (MD), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field

Preferred

Prior interest and experience in quality improvement and/or evaluation projects
Candidates may have a focus on understanding ways to use statistical and or computational approaches in one or more of the following areas: (1) to better understand root causes (mechanisms) of mental health conditions, (2) to develop and evaluate tools for more accurate and rapid diagnosis, (3) to evaluate and implement statistical knowledge to enhance knowledge of mental health diseases and care, and/or (4) to evaluate the effectiveness of mental health treatments using diverse clinical trial designs
