Responsibilities
Monitors and maintains system performance of Servers and/or Network equipment
Monitors performance of network devices and systems using the appropriate monitoring tools
Reviews monitoring reports and investigates potential technical issues
Isolates performance bottlenecks and corrects where appropriate according to departmental standards as defined in the operator’s manual
Reports to responsible department on potential required capacity modifications
Implements minor changes as requested following departmental policies and procedures
Investigates, initiates and executes scheduled and requested task and health checks
Resolves technical issues involving network devices, servers and the software which operates it, supporting high availability applications
Monitors and maintains tape library and coordinate offsite storage of tapes
Installs server or network hardware
Installs and maintains remote access and firewall equipment
Coordinates the establishment of network to host connection
Performs other essential job-related duties
Qualification
Required
H.S. Diploma or GED required
4 years network or server administration experience required
Bachelor's degree in an information technology discipline can substitute for the experience requirement
Preferred
Associate's degree preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred
CCNA-DC - Cisco Cert Nwk Assoc Data Ctr by Cisco preferred
CCNA-RS - Cisco Cert Nwk Asc RouteSwitch by Cisco preferred
MCSA - Microsoft Cert System Admin by Microsoft preferred
CISSP - Cert.Info.Sys Security Profes. Preferred
