Responsibilities

Install Telecom cabling in new and existing structures in enclosed and cramped spaces or at heights. Operate mechanical and electrical equipment used in the installation of cabling in close proximity to high voltage and high pressure steam pipes
Complete Reports of time, materials, and other necessary items required for the assigned tasks. Set up and dismantle equipment. Operate a UT vehicle

Required

High School graduate or GED
Work constructively as a team member
Exercise good safety habits
Experience installing inside plant communications cabling and wireless access points
Experience in commercial construction work
Regular and punctual attendance
Current/valid Texas driver's license
Clean driving record

Preferred

Experience in commercial construction work

This temporary assignment is benefits-eligible.
Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
