Responsibilities
Assist in administration of Federal (EPA), State (ADEM) and local environmental program requirements, including but not limited to air, wastewater, storm water, solid and hazardous waste
Routine data/information management/analysis
Coordinate activities and assist in preparing reports submitted to outside agencies
Apply subject matter expertise and excellent communication skills to help operations meet environmental compliance requirements
Coordinate and oversee contractors and consultants, as needed, to maintain environmental compliance
Build and maintain solid working relationships with regulatory agencies
Attend environmental seminars and regulatory meetings as needed
Develop knowledge of mill processes, risks and their impact on environmental performance
Aid in management of the mill’s wastewater system along with solid waste programs as needed
Periodically rotate "on call" to provide environmental support to operations and review daily compliance status outside of regular business hours
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental or a related engineering or science
Fundamental understanding of mill processes
Good oral and written communications skills
