Quality Assurance Coordinator- Interfacility Transport Team (IFT) (FT- 1.0 FTE, Variable Shift)

This role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with the transport team to maintain high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive QA/QI program for IFT clinical and operational performance
Conduct structured ePCR/chart reviews for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to clinical protocols and documentation standards
Analyze key performance indicators (e.g., airway success, analgesia effectiveness, transport/turnaround times, documentation accuracy) and prepare monthly and quarterly reports for leadership
Facilitate root-cause analyses of incidents, near misses, and complaints; track corrective actions and verify effectiveness
Partner with the medical director and IFT leadership to develop, review, and revise clinical protocols, policies, and workflows; coordinate education and change management
Provide constructive feedback and targeted education to IFT personnel based on audit findings; support orientation and competency validation related to quality and documentation
Monitor compliance with state/federal regulations and accreditation standards; support external audits, surveys, and accreditation activities
Maintain QA databases/dashboards; ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and timely submission of required reports
Participate in safety huddles, pre-briefs/debriefs, CQI meetings, and interdisciplinary committees to foster a culture of safety and high reliability
Rotate into transport shifts as scheduled to maintain clinical competency within licensure and Bozeman Health protocols
Perform base duties and additional tasks as assigned to support transport operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current State of Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Valid Montana driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
Preferred
Prehospital or interfacility transport experience
Quality-related experience (QA/QI, chart audit, regulatory compliance) and familiarity with EMS ePCR systems
Advanced certifications: CPHQ, CTRN, CEN, CFRN, or CCRN (Adult)
National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification at the EMT or AEMT level
Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and/or VFIS driver training
FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) training: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800
Completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Completion of the S.T.A.B.L.E. course
Completion of the Difficult Airway Course
