Seasonal Park Ranger (PSAR) Wilderness
Yosemite National Park is known for its spectacular natural beauty and is seeking Seasonal Park Rangers for its Division of Visitor and Resource Protection. The role involves conducting public outreach, ensuring visitor safety, and participating in emergency response efforts.

Responsibilities
Conduct informal public outreach while on day hikes, overnight patrols, and staffing information tables
Provide visitors with information on current conditions, help with trip planning, and discuss potential safety concerns
Help enforce park regulations through education
Provide oversight for the daily activities of PSAR interns and volunteers
Participate in Search and Rescue and Emergency Medical response
Maintain PSAR, SAR, and EMS equipment and vehicles
Participate in advanced training such as Technical Rope Rescue or Aviation training based on prior training and experience
Drive an ambulance as part of the all-hazard emergency response team

Required
U.S. Citizenship required
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
You will be required to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result prior to appointment
You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards
You will be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work
Applicants must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or have completed a formal vocational training program; or have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program
CURRENT Wilderness First Responder or higher EMS certification
To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service
You must include a copy of your transcripts at the time of application
