Responsibilities

You will prepare cost estimates for specific budget programs using various approved rates (fix price, unit rates, stabilized rates, and work category rates)
You will prepare budget feeder information pertaining to specific and proposed work requirements, interpret work assignments, prepare cost estimates, detail job orders, and schedules
You will maintain a record of expenditures and number of units produced against a job, investigate differences between estimated and actual weekly costs, and conduct an analysis for future reference and to maintain an auditable trail
You will originate material requirements and indicate delivery schedule required at each stage or shop to meet Fleet commitments or production delivery schedules
You will determine material substitutes, request waiver/deviation of specifications, revise plans, schedules, and estimates as work progresses
You will recommend changes in methods, material substitutions, plans, priorities, shop workload, and similar factors to reduce costs
You will assist in the preparation of SOP's, LEl's, etc., by initiation of requests and providing Inputs
You will progress work to ensure its completion as scheduled and troubleshoots problem development to avoid loss of time and materials
You will originate correspondence concerning estimates and technical! information, and weekly/monthly reports involving all aspects of planning and scheduling
You will participate in conferences and make work site inspections to determine planning requirements

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
To qualify for a GS-09, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in planning, coordinating, and managing production and repair operations for ordnance, ammunition, explosives, or military weapon systems
Skilled in communicating effectively with engineers, supervisors, production workers, and logistics personnel
Experience interpreting and applying technical manuals, safety directives, and repair documentation
Skills in workflow planning, production scheduling, and resource allocation
Demonstrate knowledge of compliance with safety regulations, hazardous materials handling, and DoD standards
Ability to analyze production data and resolve scheduling conflicts
Demonstrate knowledge of inventory management, supply chain coordination, and material requisition for ordnance items
To qualify for a GS-07, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in and possess basic knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory control in a defense or ordnance environment
Experience in and possess knowledge of ordnance manufacturing processes, quality control, safety standards, and government regulations
Experience communicating effectively with personnel, supervisors, and logistics staff
Basic knowledge of repair and maintenance processes specific to ordnance equipment
Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and compliance with military and federal safety regulations
Ability to interpret technical drawings, repair orders, and safety directives related to ordnance items
