They are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to collaborate with various teams to develop technical solutions for advanced power plant designs and support new product development.

Responsibilities

Design parts and assemblies for various product lines (e.g. valves, hydraulic assemblies, and actuators)

Create schematic, and assembly drawings using Solidworks or AutoCAD

Generate manufacturing drawings for parts and determine manufacturing processes and specify tolerancing requirements

Develop engineering solutions and proposal documentation for RFQs and RFIs

Collaborate with the analysis team on parts or assemblies that require FEA or CFD

Communicate with customers on project and design related challenges

Required travel time is less than 5%

Required

10+ years of Mechanical Design experience

Knowledge and experience in industrial and machine design

Lead roles in product development and put into practice various engineering processes listed below

Understanding of different manufacturing processes: casting, machining, grinding, lapping, additive manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication etc

Proficiency in CAD modeling using SolidWorks

Proficiency in GD&T and related standards for drawing creation

Proficiency in engineering processes (e.g. DFMA, DMAIC, FMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, etc.)

Preferred

Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and schematics is a plus

Familiarity with nuclear industry standards (ASME, ANSI, API, IEEE etc.) is a plus

Familiarity with industrial hydraulics and electrical equipment is a plus
