COMPOSITE/ PLASTIC FABRICATOR
The Department of the Air Force is seeking a Composite/Plastic Fabricator to join their team in Fort Worth, TX. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain and repair advanced composite components for 5th Generation aircraft, ensuring they meet operational standards.

Responsibilities
To provide on/off equipment maintenance for the 5th Generation aircraft
Responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, modifying and maintaining advanced composite components, internal and external along with accessories of aircraft structures assemblies/sub-assemblies and low observable systems, sub-systems and applicable aircraft specialized coatings
Maintain the low observable system and sub-systems via health evaluation/quantification systems
Prepare aircraft for, and perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, repairs, maintenance, modifications and TCTOs
Identify, remove, and prevent corrosion including proper application of corrosion inhibitors
Provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks herein
Reads, interprets and understands engineering drawings as well as manufacturing process specifications for coatings/plastics applications on low observable aircraft, parts, and assemblies
IAW technical data and standards: Plans and lays out work from engineering data, blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders in the repair, coating or manufacture of aircraft structural components and support equipment
Operates, cleans, maintains and accounts for all hand, power tools and equipment to fabricate and repair items
Cleans work area and equipment
Performs evaluations and audits of the low observable coatings systems for damage and system integrity
Prepares effective training plans to maximize Reserve training
Utilizes safety practices, Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and AF Environmental Compliance Assessment Management Program (ECAMP) environmental protection practices and procedures and complies with security regulations, directives and policies

U.S. Citizenship Required
Males must be registered for Selective Service
Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join
Employee must maintain current certifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
Must be able to pass physical examination required to wear respiratory protection equipment
Knowledge of materials, techniques, practices, and procedures related to sheet metal structural and composite structural tasks to support aircraft and support equipment maintenance
Knowledge of federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and AF Environmental Compliance Assessment Management Program (ECAMP) rules, regulations, and instructions relating to hazardous waste generation and personal and environmental protection
Ability to do the work of structural/plastics fabricator/low observable technician without more than normal supervision
Skill in using and maintaining a variety of metal shop tools, equipment, and measuring instruments such as drill presses, punches, metal saws, cabinet blasters, paint guns, and pressure pot paint guns
Skill in assembling, fabricating, and repairing aircraft structural components, and materials
Ability to inspect and evaluate structural damage to sheet metal and composite systems sufficient to plan and accomplish repairs
Skill in interpreting blueprints, program readouts, diagrams, sketches, technical specifications and shop mathematics
Ability to maintain professional, courteous and cooperative interaction with coworkers, sections, and organizations
Communicate and appropriately document work orally and in writing both manually and through computer-based access methods
Knowledge of work area hygiene, upkeep, cleanliness and foreign object debris prevention sufficient to clean work area and/or job site upon completion of work
Skill in use and maintenance of a variety of specialized surface preparation/coatings application equipment such as powered spray units, sanders, grinders, vacuum, pit depth gauges, and stencil machines
Practical knowledge of the principals of low observable technologies/construction features
Ability to input, validate, analyze, interpret and understand signature data
