Responsibilities
Prepare and develop detailed drawings and layouts from rough sketches or from general engineering design information with minimal supervision or as directed by the project engineers, designers, and/or supervisor for concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls and miscellaneous structures
Develop details for complex concrete and steel bridges which may include prestressed concrete, cast-in-place concrete, steel plate girder, segmental and cable-stayed bridges
Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings
Work with engineers to develop 3D models using OpenBridge Modeler and OpenRoads Designer
Be able to organize and perform tasks necessary to complete assigned projects successfully
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Actively promotes and contributes to the successful completion of projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation
Be a team player and assist other groups as needed
Qualification
Required
Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience
A minimum of 5 years related industry experience
Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool
Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential
Preferred
Associate's degree in Engineering Technology
Experience in structures drafting or related projects
Experience working with BIM and 3D CAD software platforms
Experience interpreting as-built plans for existing structures
Ability to use Excel to calculate quantities for cost estimating purposes
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members
Preference given to local candidates
