Responsibilities

Optimize Production Systems: Support manual, semi-automated, and automated processes by collaborating with operators, team leaders, and value stream managers to improve layouts, material flow, and line balancing
Lead Coatings & Foam Projects: Own projects for Powder Coat Paint systems and Foam-in-Place (FIP) technology, driving improvements in efficiency, throughput, and quality
Champion Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean principles and lead Kaizen events to reduce waste, enhance safety, and improve delivery performance
Lead Capital Projects: Submit capital equipment (CapEx) requests, coordinate integration of new equipment, and ensure seamless execution
Troubleshoot & Innovate: Quickly resolve paint adhesion, curing, and application issues while exploring new methods to elevate our processes
Communicate Impact: Present updates and results to leadership and multi-functional teams

Required

Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Polymers & Coatings, Chemicals, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on exposure to chemical applications, coatings, FIP/polyurethane foam, or materials processing
Solid foundation in chemistry, coatings, and materials science
Familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office, ERP systems (such as JD Edwards), Product Lifecycle Management software (PLM, such as Enovia), and/or project management tools like Smartsheet

Preferred

Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on exposure to chemical applications, coatings, FIP/polyurethane foam, or materials processing
Working knowledge of pretreatment (zirconium/iron/zinc phosphate), RO water systems, booths/ovens/conveyors, and powder reclaim/transfer efficiency
