Fisheries Technician (Seasonal)
The State of South Dakota is seeking a Fisheries Technician to assist the Game Fish & Parks southeast area fisheries management team. The role involves various fisheries management and research activities, including fish spawning, population sampling, and outreach on aquatic invasive species.

Responsibilities
Assist the GFP southeast area fisheries management team with fisheries management, fisheries research, aquatic habitat, aquatic access and aquatic invasive species activities on southeastern South Dakota waters
Duties include fish spawning and stocking operations, fish population sampling, fishing access improvement, assisting with research studies, data entry, lab work, aquatic invasive species outreach, and equipment maintenance
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor
Ability to work nights and weekends
Operation and maintenance of boats, motors, and trailers
Basic vehicle and equipment maintenance
Knowledge of fisheries management principles and techniques
Fish identification
Basic computer operation
