Responsibilities

Lead legal strategy and negotiations for high-stakes alternative delivery projects, including DB, PDB, DBFOM, PPP, IPD, and collaborative contracting models
Partner with executive leadership, pursuit teams, and joint venture partners to assess risk and structure agreements that align with TYLin’s commercial objectives and risk tolerance
Provide legal guidance during all phases of the pursuit lifecycle—from bid/no-bid decisions to teaming agreements, proposals, interviews, and contract finalization
Support claims mitigation and resolution strategies, working collaboratively with project teams and external counsel as needed
Build, lead, and mentor a dedicated legal team specializing in alternative delivery over time
Develop and maintain contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and best-practice guidance documents to streamline project delivery across business lines
Monitor emerging legal, regulatory, and industry trends relevant to collaborative and alternative project delivery models; update stakeholders and influence strategy accordingly
Represent the legal function in client-facing settings, strategic partnerships, and industry events, strengthening TYLin’s leadership profile in the alternative delivery space
Collaborate with global legal, risk, and compliance teams to ensure consistency in contracting practices and enterprise-wide risk governance

Qualification

Required

Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB); active bar membership in a U.S. State or Canadian Province
Minimum of 10 years' legal experience with a strong focus on major infrastructure or capital project delivery, including at least 5 years supporting alternative delivery methods
Demonstrated expertise in negotiating, drafting, and advising on complex project agreements such as P3s, DBs, DBFOMs, joint ventures, and concession arrangements
In-depth understanding of risk allocation, bonding/insurance structures, performance security, and subcontractor relationships under various delivery models
Business-oriented legal mindset with the ability to balance commercial opportunity and contractual risk
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence and support senior executives, technical leaders, and external partners
Experience coordinating or managing outside counsel
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, matrixed, and collaborative global environment
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required
