Industrialization Engineer
Vallourec - North America is seeking an Industrialization Engineer who is responsible for ensuring the successful production of new products and processes. This role involves designing, validating, and optimizing manufacturing processes while collaborating with various teams to guarantee manufacturability and industrial readiness.

Responsibilities
Lead industrialization activities for new product introductions and process changes
Lead review of new product requests to determine order acceptance
Support development of R&D/Industrialization plan and take lead on projects
Develop and validate manufacturing processes, including PFMEA, control plans, and capability studies
Supports and oversees work, collaborating with sales, process engineering and operations, to evaluate product characteristics bridging the process between R&D and introduction of new or upgraded product requirements into the process, ensuring manufacturability and customer quality requirement are met
Define and implement industrialization plans, including process flow, tooling, and equipment specifications and other requirements necessary to successfully produce new products within each stage of the operating routing, including alloy design
Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly reviews with engineering teams
Develops and validates production processes through trials, capability studies, and risk assessments
Support supplier development and qualification for new or modified products
Drives product quality improvements through defect investigation for both internal and external non-conformance
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Provide technical support during ramp-up and resolves production issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Experience in project management
Technical knowledge in thermodynamics and kinetics of steel processing (melting, casting, heat treatment, metal forming, machinability, surface treatment, destructive and non-destructive methods)
Knowledge in standard monitoring and measuring equipment and practices necessary to collect and analyze process data
Ability to use modern data analytical techniques
Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
Experience in deep problem solving and analysis of industrial problems with evidence of successful solutions
Experience in quality, statistical methods and lean methodologies for structured problem solving
Strong capabilities with MS O365 applications and demonstrated use of contemporary database platforms
Ability to travel, primarily to witness / oversee plant product trials (5 to 10%)
Fluency in English required
Preferred
Metallurgical degree preferred
Certified in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, preferred
Working knowledge and experience with steel manufacturing processes: electric furnace steelmaking, continuous billet casting, seamless pipe rolling (preferred but not required), heat treatment, machining (pipe threading) processes, NDT inspection, and other end finishing processes related to steel pipe and tube production
Fluency in Spanish, French or Portuguese as a second language is a plus
