Mechanical Engineer Consultant
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer Consultant to provide consultative engineering support for state correctional institutions. This role involves performing advanced mechanical engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with design practices, and providing technical guidance to facility maintenance managers.

Responsibilities
Perform advanced consultative mechanical engineering work
Serve as an in-house mechanical design expert
Provide direction to management about new technology
Complete designs, specifications, and Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings for construction projects
Review reports, computations, and cost estimates
Ensure projects comply with design practices, applicable codes, and policies
Conduct site inspections
Review contract change orders
Provide assistance to facility maintenance managers
Lend technical guidance to other engineering and technical staff
Qualification
Required
Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system
You must be in possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
You must be in possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
