Responsibilities

Apply established Environmental Engineering principles to plan, design, and develop systems or processes with minimal supervision
Maintain strong technical knowledge/expertise of water and wastewater design techniques and procedures
Complete studies and system analyses such as Needs Assessments, Available Facilities’ Analyses, Capacity Evaluations/Modeling, Environmental Impact Assessments, etc
Develop the process design of large scale systems to support water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution and collection systems
Perform independent complex engineering calculations
Conduct project related site surveys to confirm existing conditions and gather project data
Develop front end/contract specifications and technical equipment and performance specifications
Develop Construction Cost Estimates and Sequences of Construction
Complete shop drawings reviews
Develop the design of complex projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through the development of Construction Documents
Complete project bid phase and construction tasks such as responding to contractor RFI’s, preparing addenda, construction site inspections, and review of contractor change orders
Gather needed data and complete permit applications for client compliance of all local, state, and federal environmental regulations and construction requirements
Provide guidance and mentorship to Interns, EIT’s, and other appropriate employees
Support the project manager with proposal development, work plan development, coordination of multi-discipline projects, monitoring of schedules and budgets, attendance of project client and team meetings to assist with coordination and development of project requirements
If assigned as Project Manager (PM), perform PM responsibilities per company procedures including, but not limited to, the following: Client Liaison which may or may not include attendance at regular authority/municipality meets in support of the client and seeking out future opportunities for BH while meeting the clients’ needs
Development of proposals
Primary Point of Contact between client and project team
Coordination and direction of multi-discipline project team
Project encoding
Project Work Plan
Project Kick-off and periodic team coordination meetings
Regular communication to team in regard to project budgets, schedule, and expectations of Deliverables
Invoicing
Client Progress Reports
Prompt responses to monthly variance and project loss reports
Scheduling of client review meetings with project team
Project closeout
General profitability and overall success of the project
Perform QA/QC procedures and enforce quality control procedures throughout project development
Assure compliance with corporate procedures relevant to project design and implementation
Actively participate in corporate seller/doer efforts

Required

Professional Engineer (PE) license
Advanced leadership skills as either a technical leader and/or project manager of complex projects
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software
Working knowledge and application of Sewer and/or Water GEMS software
Knowledge of Civil 3D software
General knowledge/ability to develop Construction Cost Estimates
General knowledge/ability to develop Equipment and Construction specifications
Knowledge of construction sequences and general construction practices
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Occasional prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
Must be able to travel to various project sites
Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas while following safety regulations
Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers
Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
Comply with corporate policies and procedures
Implement and follow BH Quality Assurance / Quality Control program procedures
Follow workplace safety guidelines and refrain from engaging in unsafe behavior
Support new business development activities by reporting leads and prospects, attending professional functions, and by maintaining a professional manner and personal appearance in the conduct of job activities
