1+ years expLighthouse Risk is currently seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their team in Tampa, FL. The Underwriting Assistant will support the underwriting team by handling submissions, data entry, and document processing while gaining exposure to the MGA underwriting process.

Responsibilities
Review incoming submissions for completeness and accuracy
Enter data into underwriting and rating systems
Track submission status and coordinate with brokers and underwriters
Prepare account files, rating worksheets, and documentation for underwriter review
Assist with gathering supplemental information (loss runs, inspection reports, etc.)
Generate quotes, binders, and policy documents under direction of underwriters
Respond to broker inquiries regarding required information, status updates, and documentation
Support timely delivery of quotes, binders, and policies
Maintain organized records of submissions and policies
Assist in developing process improvements to streamline underwriting workflow
Support compliance with underwriting guidelines, audit requirements, and service standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
1–3 years of insurance industry experience (underwriting support, operations, or processing preferred)
Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with underwriting/rating platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
