Responsibilities

Manage an organization of Android and iOS developers with an opportunity to grow the team in the future while shaping our long-term technical strategy: balance scalability, latency, and feature quality while developing the next generation of leaders within Photos

Set the team’s goal and strategy to grow editing usage and engagement across Google Photos’ user base, bringing the best of Photos’ editors to users around the world

Build growth loops between editing and creativity, helping to understand engagement drivers and product opportunities

Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with Photos’ product, UX, and infrastructure teams - along with Research groups across Google. Work across these groups to bring editing features to core surfaces in the Google Photos app

Stay ahead of industry trends and initiate cross-Photos and cross-Google partnerships to develop new features to beautify users’ libraries

Required

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience

8 years of experience in software development

2 years of experience with iOS or Android application development

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field

3 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization

Experience leading teams in image and video editing, media consumption, or creative applications

Experience building successful consumer features and bringing them to market quickly - from prototyping to productionization

Experience developing cross-functional and cross-team partnerships

Experience in team growth with clear mentorship and coaching
