Geology Research Technician

Responsibilities
Process sediment samples and analyze sediment and soil samples in the laboratory
Analyses will include dating sediments with optically-stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating and particle size analysis of samples using a laser diffraction particle size analyzer
Subsample sediment and soil cores for analysis
Assist with generating materials for publications, including geologic maps and other manuscripts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or related field plus 1 year experience in a research laboratory. Additional years of completed, relevant education or experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis
Experience in a research laboratory and using analytical equipment
Experience with basic word processing and use of spreadsheets
Basic understanding of chemistry and laboratory procedures
Preferred
Master's degree in Earth Sciences, Soil Science or Environmental Science
