Graduate Assistant for Fraternity & Sorority Life
Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Fraternity & Sorority Life to support the governance councils of fraternities and sororities. The role involves advising councils, spearheading scholarship efforts, and assisting with departmental programming and events.

Responsibilities
Advise or co-advise one or two of the four fraternity and sorority governance councils: College Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council
Attendance at council meetings
Assisting with major council initiatives including council-specific recruitment and programming
Creating skill building opportunities for council officers, including but not limited to council retreats and trainings
Serve as advisor and event consultant for the individual chapters that fall within the respective council(s)
Aiding students in sound practice and ethical decision making
Meeting regularly with council executive officers and chapter presidents
Meeting intermittently with other chapter officers, e.g. Scholarship chairs, recruitment chairs, etc
Spearhead scholarship and assessment efforts within the fraternity and sorority community, including: Advising fraternity/sorority academic honoraries, e.g. Order of Omega, Rho Lambda
Working with council scholarship chairs on a comprehensive, community-wide scholarship plan
Assisting chapters who fall below standards in improving their academic performance
Compile semester data from our fraternities and sororities to tell our data story, including, but not limited to: Grades, service hours, philanthropy dollars, and involvement beyond FSL
Assist with planning and implementing department-initiated programming, such as, but not limited to: Fall Kickoff, Homecoming, Winter Welcome, and the Excellence Banquet; as well as marketing these and other department initiatives
Serve as a liaison for programming between CAP/Fraternity and Sorority Life and other campus entities, both on a one-to-one basis and through service on committees
Serve as member of the Office of Campus Activities and Programs staff and participate in campus-wide events such as SOAR, Fall Kickoff, and Admissions Open Houses; attends CAP and Student Affairs meetings; and other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Maintain academic good standing at all times (3.0)
Be enrolled full-time, which is generally a minimum of 9 credits
Make satisfactory progress toward your degree as defined by your academic program and the Graduate School
Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the U.S
Display maturity in work style and communication skills
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite, and basic technology
Flexibility in work schedule is a must for weekly meetings and events and peak times such as recruitment, Greek Week, and other community-wide activities
Display enthusiasm for working directly with students
