Strategic Financial Planning Analyst

Guardian Life is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Strategic Financial Planning Analyst. This role will support the planning, evaluation, and execution of strategic initiatives across the organization, driving financial insight and operational alignment through budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.

Responsibilities

Partner with business leaders to evaluate strategic initiatives, including financial modeling, ROI analysis, and risk assessment
Support execution planning by aligning financial and operational goals with initiative timelines and milestones
Track initiative performance against defined KPIs and provide actionable insights
Support budgeting and forecasting processes across departments as it relates to strategic investments
Assist with developing and maintaining dynamic scenario planning models to assess financial impact under varying business conditions
Provide variance analysis and recommendations to improve financial outcomes
Design and maintain dashboards to monitor project performance against financial and operational KPIs
Deliver timely and accurate reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders
Continuously improve reporting tools and processes to enhance decision-making
Work closely with Finance, Strategy, and other business functional teams to ensure alignment of financial goals and strategic priorities
Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred
3–5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate strategy, or management consulting
Strong proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

MBA or CFA preferred
