Building Envelope Consultant
Certerra is a technology-enabled testing, inspection, and certification services company seeking an experienced Building Envelope Consultant to serve as a Project Manager/Engineer. The role involves managing multiple projects, conducting building envelope assessments, and providing consulting services to clients while fostering new business opportunities.

Responsibilities
Manage multiple concurrent projects from lead to pursuit to execution to close-out phases
Supervise and support field technicians
Perform building envelope assessments and property condition assessments (PCA’s) of existing facilities, lead forensic investigations, manage technicians in performance of field testing and inspections, determine cause and origin of failures, and provide consulting services inclusive of peer reviews
Be knowledgeable and have the ability to perform: fenestration testing (air and water leakage), blower door testing, diagnostic testing to evaluate building system performance, non-destructive testing techniques such as infrared thermography, and structural load testing
Prepare detailed technical reports, design documents, and remediation recommendation documents
Develop estimates, proposals, and responses to RFP’s and RFQ’s
Coordinate and communicate with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants
Monitor project progress and performance, tracking milestones, deliverables, and financials
Review construction documents with an emphasis on building envelope components
Lead project meetings and assist clients with decision-making
Maintain organized project documentation
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams
Mentor junior staff
Support business development activities inclusive of proposal development, trade organization participation, and client presentations such as Lunch and Learns
Procure new clients and offer the highest level of customer satisfaction for existing clients
Provide quality oversight of project deliverables
Identify possible improvements to project management and workflows
Remain knowledgeable in the latest industry best practices, trends, and products
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering from a U.S. accredited institution
Extensive practical knowledge of exterior wall claddings, environmental control layers, below-grade waterproofing, fenestrations, exterior sealants and coatings, and roofing
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to pass a drug test
At least 4-years of experience in the building envelope and/or facilities consulting industry
Highly proficient technical communication skills
Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects
Excellent client interaction skills
Ability to travel to project sites throughout the state of Florida. At times, minimal overnight work will be requested
Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
Ability to climb onto roofs, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc
Is highly organized and takes the initiative to complete tasks in timely and efficient manner
Willing to work a flexible schedule and additional hours during periods of peak business demand
Is detail oriented and team oriented
Preferred
PE FL, IIBEC certifications (RRO, REWO, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC) or other building envelope related credentials
