Responsibilities
Supports the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
Provides technical support as related to survey to Field Engineering and Superintendents in a wide range of situation and configurations
Establishes and/or verifies and maintains the project’s survey control network
Supports the administration of the survey work request program
Survey Eng./Party Chief & Office Surveyor
Oversees Civil project completion documentation including 'As-Built' records
Possesses responsibility for checking the accurate layout of construction work, recordation of field data according to job specifications and appropriate methods of performing survey activities
Provides oversights of the Calibration Baseline checks of survey instruments
Scanning Survey Party Chief
Provides laser scanning support
Establishes and maintains Dimensional Control (DC) as required
Performs field scans / reality capture surveys
Qualification
Required
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
Knowledge of heavy industrial construction survey principles
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to heavy industrial construction surveying field & office activities
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, able to formulate a working relationship with survey team members, other departments, and contractors, and survey functional management
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams
Demonstrated proficiency with Survey CAD software, such as TBC (Trimble Business Center) and AutoCAD Civil 3D
General awareness of environmental laws
Awareness of government compliance standards
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces
Some lifting may be required
Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress)
Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
