Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including highways, roadways, earthwork, utilities, and structures
Analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope, risks, and opportunities
Lead bid strategy development, pricing, and subcontractor outreach
Perform quantity takeoffs, cost modeling, and value engineering
Collaborate with project management and operations to ensure accurate handoff after award
Review subcontractor and supplier pricing for completeness and competitiveness
Support junior estimators and contribute to best practices within the estimating team
Qualification
Required
7+ years of estimating experience in US heavy civil construction
Strong knowledge of Georgia DOT (GDOT) and local municipal bid processes
Proven experience bidding DOT and public-sector infrastructure projects
Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools
Strong understanding of heavy civil means and methods
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
