Responsibilities

Lead career education throughout Seton College; coordinate and design work-based learning opportunities for students
Develop and execute career exposure programming, including panels, internships or career shadowing opportunities
Work with the Associate Dean for Student Success and Engagement to design and implement comprehensive work-based learning and career readiness initiatives
Facilitate students' exploration of career pathways and offer personalized guidance toward achieving their post-graduation goals
Establish and cultivate targeted organizational relationships that will lead to the development of an internship/fellowship program via direct outreach to employers, participation in professional organizations, recruitment fairs, connecting with other like-minded institutions, and more
Develop and implement programming focused on career readiness skills for students, such as resumes, LinkedIn, interview skills, successful job search strategies, and more
Host individual and group sessions to provide direct assistance for resume preparation and interviewing techniques
Manage the research, knowledge development, and overall direction of student career exposure within Seton College to expose students to employer trends, how to improve professionally, and connect their academics to their future
Serve as the primary point of contact between employers/recruiters and students/alumni
Curate and disperse information on relevant events, conferences, and programs that inform students and alumni of opportunities that support their future career success
Collaborate with the Dean, College Advisory Board, UMSV Director of Career Education & Internships, Faculty, and Staff across UMSV to develop career-readiness programming and work-based learning opportunities for students
Developing Social Capital
Lead and manage all aspects of Seton College's mentor program
Lead student education efforts on the development of social capital and benefits of mentorship
Partner with mentors to build strong relationships, enhance their connections with student mentees, and equip them with effective mentoring strategies and techniques
Engage in ongoing, regular, and personalized communication with students in the mentorship program
Develop programming to educate students on the importance of building social capital; empower students with accessible strategies to broaden and build a network of support
Collaborate with the Dean, Associate Deans, Alumni Director and others to develop events to enhance the experience for students and mentors in the program
Support and manage mentor recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development
Facilitate and manage a community among students and mentors to foster support, networking, and opportunities for engagement
Track and maintain records of student outcomes and use data to inform program design and improvement

Required

Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Significant experience and expertise in student engagement, career services, advising and coaching
A history of success with project management and program development
Strong writing, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Able to develop rapport and build trust with a diverse range of individuals
Strong record of using data to inform program design and improvement
Requires strong advising skills, coordinating, group learning, public speaking, and teaching
