Responsibilities

Researches, develops, implements, maintains and reviews maintenance training courses and related items. This includes working with manufacturers and vendors to learn computerized diagnostic software and design and execute technical training for all Maintenance employees
Presents formal maintenance training programs which lead to qualification of bus maintenance personnel repairmen and mechanics
Conducts impromptu garage training as required to ensure proficiency in areas including but not limited to electric and hybrid propulsions, aftertreatment, air brakes, multiplex systems, storage batteries and HVAC
Assimilates new technology, including online training and manufacturer-provided web-based training, to course offerings
Audits vendor training to ensure quality and acquires training aids
Appraises and provides counsel for complex technical troubleshooting. Validates training objectives. Audits training result and makes suggestions to Maintenance Training management for adjustments as necessary
Performs upkeep maintenance on training center equipment and training aids
Interacts with maintenance support groups as required to assist with maintenance procedures implementation
Must be self-motivated and team orientated

Required

High school diploma, or equivalent
Two (2) years of additional formal technical training, plus at least five (5) years applicable experience in a diesel powered vehicle maintenance program
A complete understanding of 12 and 24 volt electrical circuitry
Ability to comprehend fully electric and hybrid propulsions, storage batteries, and HVAC systems
Knowledge of electronic controls including engines, transmissions, body controls, ABS and HVAC systems
Proficiency in heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC, air brake systems, multiplex systems, hydraulics, aftertreatment, and pneumatics required
Must be self-motivated and team orientated
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Have Physical fitness and stamina to stoop, crawl, work laying down, climb stairs, work in confined areas
Be able to work in a noisy fast paced environment

Preferred

ASE certification
Two (2) years in an instructional capacity is desired
Knowledge of computer based diagnostic software and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software is desired
CDL A, license desirable
ASE certification desirable
