Responsibilities
Serve as the site biology lead, guiding scientific direction and program strategy in skeletal muscle and cardiometabolic discovery
Lead and mentor a team of five scientists, providing both strategic and hands-on scientific support
Drive early-stage drug discovery programs from target validation through IND-enabling studies
Collaborate closely with chemistry, data science, and translational teams to advance programs efficiently
Shape and expand the discovery portfolio, providing cross-functional leadership and strategic insight
Foster an innovative, collaborative environment that emphasizes mentorship and scientific excellence
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in a relevant biological discipline with 10+ years of industry experience in small molecule discovery
Proven expertise in skeletal muscle, cardiometabolic, or metabolic disease biology
Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary discovery programs within biotech or pharma
Strong publication record and evidence of advancing projects from concept to IND
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
Preferred
Prior experience managing teams or serving as a lab head strongly preferred
