Diagnostic Program Manager
Kia Georgia, Inc. is involved in the automotive industry, focusing on emissions standards and quality control. The Diagnostic Program Manager will develop a comprehensive understanding of automotive emissions standards, execute quality activities, and ensure compliance with regulations while managing emissions testing and data analysis.
Responsibilities
Maintain all aspects of running a vehicle emissions lab, including quality control operations, system backups, analytical repairs, ordering and inventory of materials and consumables such as Test Fuel, Test Gases, spare parts, basic preventative maintenance, and service contracts
Support Emissions testing of KAGA Production and In-Service vehicles (Emissions Mileage Accumulation Vehicles) at set test mileage, analyze data, and review all reports generated
Support OBD/Diagnostics testing and communicate with KMC concerning any OBD testing failures. analyze data, and review all reports generated
Emission Test and OBD Database management to ensure all needed paper and soft copies are filed and held on-site in a secure method that conforms to policy guidelines, including EPA and CARB certs. Drive continuous OBD testing improvement activities, continue to enhance testing capabilities
Maintain a full statistical control database for all emission gas analyzers to ensure the process is capable and any abnormalities are investigated and corrective actions are taken
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the emissions field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to independently run emission test, working knowledge of needed equipment (chassis dynamometer and emission test analyzer bench system, and OBD equipment)
Experience with Emissions Testing and reporting to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and CARB (California Air Resource Board)
Knowledge to analyze emissions testing data and formulate needed improvement activities
Knowledge to analyze OBD testing data and formulate needed improvement activities
Ability to use, service and maintain all equipment used in an emission lab setting, including chassis dynamometer, dilution air refinement system, emission analyzer bench
Ability to use all major testing equipment that can be used for testing On Board Vehicle Diagnostic systems such as: Inca based software, wave form generator, chassis dynamometer, generic and specific vehicle scanners, multi-meters, DC power supplies, mis-fire generators, etc
Knowledge and experience with OBD II Test equipment and diagnostics ability of the basic equipment
Preferred
Advanced technical based degree would be a plus
