Responsibilities

Perform routine and emergency maintenance on the plant instrumentation, electrical and control system with minimal supervision. including weekends, holidays and alternative scheduled shift as needed
Evaluate, maintain and repair 120-volt lighting panels, 4160-volt vacuum circuit breakers, switch gears, MCC’s, switchyard circuit breakers, AC & DC circuitry, electrical disconnect, transformers, HVAC, UPS, batteries, charger, inverters and VFD’s
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, technical manuals, and control diagrams
Maintain, diagnose, and repair issues on different GE and Swisher protective relays
Calibrate and repair issues with pneumatic operated valves, to include Fisher, CCI, Bettis and Valtek actuators. Calibrate and repair issues with motor operated valves, to include Limitorque, Auma and EIM motor actuators
Calibrate, repair and maintain various pressure, flow, level, temperature transmitters and switches
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair plant electronic, pneumatic systems, analyzers, facility computers, process control equipment and instrumentation
Perform troubleshooting activities on plant electrical systems. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems on different instrumentation and control devices
Participate in major maintenance projects, including equipment overhauls and removal and replacement of major units and parts. Inspects and monitors work of third-party contractors during major equipment repair or installation
Maintain PLC and DCS systems. Calibrate various field devices from the DCS. Interpret and make changes to ladder logic, setting and configurations on PLC and DCS systems
Familiarity with the calibration and maintenance of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS)
Build cable and raceway systems and bend and install conduit. Pull and route control and power cables through raceways, cable trays and conduits. Terminate cables and check for continuity and accuracy
Comply with safety and environmental regulations established by regulatory agencies, Company policies and procedures and supervision
Must be able to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways at elevations of 80 feet and more; wear respirator

Required

High school graduate or equivalent
Trade school or technical training school programs in electrical, instrumentation and/or controls
Minimum of five years' maintenance experience in power generation facilities or similar industrial facilities and field
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
Working knowledge of Work Management Programs
Valid CA driver's license
Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communications skills, and be proficient with the use of power and precision tools
Must have knowledge of Safety and Environment rules as they relate to electrical maintenance
Must provide positive influence on the maintenance, operations, engineering and management team
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
Able to work weekend and holidays as needed
Must be able to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, scaffolding and walkways at elevations of 80 feet and more; wear a respirator
Must pass POSS/MASS pre-employment test
