Responsibilities

Informs supervisor of personnel, performance, and quality issues, and supports resolution of ongoing issues
Assists paint department with job assignments
Mentors and trains new employees
Plans and communicates within the department for effective setups
Plans and communicates with Material Handlers for effective material handling to and from paint area
Sands and prepares surface for painting
Builds topcoat thickness of high gloss finish
Reads blue prints to understand parts and how they relate to each other
Follows company procedures and displays a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have experience setting up, using, and maintaining gravity fed HVLP guns and pump-style spray systems
Must know and understand how to mix paint as well as which chemicals to use for specific conditions
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Regularly required to talk and hear
Required to stand, walk, climb, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch
Frequently required to use fingers, hands, and arms to handle and reach
Must frequently lift and/or move 5-30lbs
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Required to work four 10-hour days, occasionally working up to 5 days/week as business demands
Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles
Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights
Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions such as: precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat
Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment
