Materials Engineer

Responsibilities
Provide technical input to standards & specifications for materials, nondestructive testing (NDT), welding, and other special processes
Review, approve, and qualify suppliers and repair shops for activities related to welding, materials & special metallurgical processes
Proactively lead and develop standard repair methods and selection criteria
Answer technical requests for support on materials related issues dealing with nonconformances, material substitution requests, and field and shop repairs
Lead or support Root Cause investigations related to Materials and Welding issues
Support R&D activities related to materials, welding, heat treat, and NDT
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering
Experience in ferrous metallurgy, heat treatment, brazing, welding, and coatings
5 - 8 years in metallurgical lab or metallurgical engineering function
Ability to effectively communicate project progress and issues to Senior Management
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
