Responsibilities
Assess, price, and underwrite commercial property submissions (E&S focus) within authority levels
Review exposures, loss history, and risk quality to recommend appropriate terms and conditions
Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and profitability objectives
Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers (retail and wholesale)
Provide responsive, clear communication on submissions and appetite
Support business development through proactive broker outreach
Contribute to the achievement of team production and profitability goals
Identify opportunities for cross-sell and portfolio optimization
Monitor renewal retention and performance of assigned accounts
Partner with senior underwriters on larger or more complex risks
Share insights on market trends, pricing shifts, and competitor activity
Contribute to underwriting process improvements and adoption of tech tools
Qualification
Required
2+ years of commercial property underwriting experience, preferably in the E&S market
Working knowledge of habitational, hospitality, or retail property risks
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and price risk accurately
Solid communication and relationship-building abilities
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented MGA
Proficiency with underwriting systems, rating tools, and MS Office suite
Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment (post-offer) drug screen and background check
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
Professional certification in relevant field
