The Service Technician is responsible for using various tools for truck repair and maintenance, ensuring safety and compliance with company standards while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Train to use all tools of the trade safety and effectively
Use and understand technical instructions. He or she must be able to use information contained in them to perform their own work and assist others concerning the content
He or she will learn to determine usability of all component parts and must be able to list and order all needed parts
Must be able to complete work accurately and timely as outlined in standard guidelines
Must be able to write and or type a good description of all work performed on each individual repair
Ability to perform all aspects of the job safely and in accordance with OSHA and BTE’s rules and regulations expressed or implied
Understands the importance of attendance and punctuality and how it directly impacts customer service
Is a good steward of company tools and resources

Required

High School Diploma desired
Must possess and use good interpersonal skills to interact well with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner
Must be able to read and write in English and understand computer generated reports, office reports, invoices, etc
Must be able to operate various computer diagnostic devices, laptops, and tablets
Basic knowledge of hand tools, mechanical and hydraulic systems, pneumatics, 12-volt electrical systems and CANBUS Systems
Ability to perform all aspects of the job safely and in accordance with OSHA and BTE's rules and regulations expressed or implied
Understand the importance of attendance and punctuality and how it directly impacts customer service
Is a good steward of company tools and resources
Ability to use and understand technical instructions
Must be able to complete work accurately and timely as outlined in standard guidelines
Must be able to write and or type a good description of all work performed on each individual repair
Involves essential ability to maneuver around, in, on and under trucks in order to properly inspect and diagnose all types of problems and repairs
Must be able to pass a physical and drug and alcohol screens during pre-employment screening, randomly and/or as requested throughout employment
Must be able to lift 50 pounds to the waist and 25 pounds to the shoulder
