Responsibilities
Design and implementation of new fiber optic cable products, including development of materials, physical construction, and process optimization in collaboration with other groups
Able to manage projects using CommScope's project management system
Serve as a primary point of contact for both internal and external technical support of fiber optic cable products, encompassing domestic and international business
Responsible for developing, scheduling, and implementing projects
Participation in industry standards development
Develop cable test plans, analyze the data, and create test reports
Routinely display initiative in achieving goals and objectives focused on cost reduction and innovation
Support our factories and able to work between our Claremont and Catawba N.C. facilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical engineering curriculum (mechanical, electrical, etc.)
Five or more years of experience in the fiber optic cable manufacturing industry, focusing on the design and production of fiber optic cables
Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance day-to-day activities with project activities
10% of travel within U.S
Preferred
Experience with fiber ribbons and ribbon fiber cable
Creative, analytical, and technical problem solver
Ability to collaborate with manufacturing personnel and coordinate development efforts in a manufacturing environment
Capable of working in cross-functional teams
