Responsibilities
Collaborate with product managers to develop specifications tailored to product requirements
Develop sophisticated solutions for data center interconnect products
Read, interpret and apply relevant industry standards and test methodologies
Coordinate validation testing of fiber optic connector components to assure performance in challenging environments
Provide expert advice and consultation to other product design engineers, process engineers, and application engineers
Work closely with the manufacturing and procurement organizations to ensure robust supply chains
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Engineering, Optics, Physics, or related discipline
Ten or more years of experience designing high precision components
Experience with scale-up in high volume manufacturing facilities
Ability to translate customer requirements into product specifications
Preferred
Master's or PhD degree
Experience in fiber optic connector design or termination
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Experience leading all aspects of optical, mechanical, and environmental testing of connectors to meet industry and product requirements
Industry contacts and knowledge of data center technology
