Funding Manager

The Funding Manager serves as a strategic advisor, helping partners navigate funding landscapes and aligning program models with various funding priorities to enable revenue and regional performance.

Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to partners, helping them navigate funding landscapes, understand their options, and design programs that align with both grant requirements and organizational goals
Analyze state, federal, and local grants, as well as state workforce priorities, to identify opportunities for strong alignment between Transfr and partners and to guide partners on how to compete for funding successfully
Develop clear, persuasive narratives and program recommendations that connect partner outcomes, local labor market needs, and Transfr’s solutions
Support partners through all stages of the funding process, from identifying opportunities to interpreting requirements, defining measurable goals, developing sustainability strategies, and preparing competitive submissions
Act as a cross-functional connector, ensuring Sales and Customer Success are aligned on the funding strategy for each state and partner
Build and maintain regional funding strategies, trackers, and intelligence that guide internal forecasting, planning, and partner engagement
Monitor emerging policies, workforce initiatives, and ecosystem shifts to anticipate new opportunities and proactively advise internal teams
Support Customer Success and partners post-award to ensure programs meet required metrics and position organizations for long-term sustainability and future funding
Holds accountability for regional performance by partnering closely with Sales to support pipeline progression and closed-won business
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in a strategic, funding-focused, workforce development, or educational environment (e.g., higher education, K-12, or government relations positions) and brings a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector
Demonstrated ability to interpret complex funding structures, policy language, and program requirements
Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into clarity
Strong analytical skills and a systems-thinking mindset
Highly organized with excellent project management abilities and comfort juggling multiple priorities
Relationship-driven, collaborative, and comfortable serving as a strategic thought partner to both internal teams and external organizations
Brings a high degree of adaptability and embraces the change that may come with scaling a high-growth company
