Senior Human Resources Generalist
Baxter & Woodman, Inc. is a leader in technology and innovation, seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join their team in Houston, TX. This role involves supporting various HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, and compliance, while fostering a positive work environment and collaborating with employees and management.

Responsibilities
Assist recruiters with interviewing and new hire orientation in our Houston and Katy, TX offices
Serve as primary Human Resources contact for Houston and Katy offices
Support investigations and recommend actions with Human Resources leadership; resolve low-level conflicts locally
Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases, disciplinary actions, and investigations
Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, performance issues, and workplace behavior
Coordinate interviews and lead new hire orientation for hires located in the Houston or Katy, TX offices
Conduct check-ins with new employees
Manage monthly timesheets and assist with payroll
Provide benefits support and assist with open enrollment setup
Maintain and support HRIS processes and data integrity
Assist with compliance reporting and regulatory adherence
Contribute to program research, design, implementation, and lead assigned initiatives
Support offboarding and terminations in Houston and Katy
Conduct benefits audits and respond to employee inquiries
Collaborate on annual total compensation statements
Prepare HR reports for management
Process leave claims and support policy updates and handbook revisions
Assist with performance reviews, goal setting, and development plans
Conduct compensation analysis and benchmarking
Assist with corporate charity initiatives
Support rollout of new HR technologies
Participate in HR-related research projects
Ensure adherence to labor laws, workplace regulations, and ethical standards
Foster a positive workplace culture through engagement and coaching
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or Behavior Sciences
Eight or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience
Ability to travel to Baxter & Woodman's regional office locations required (own transportation)
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to listen actively and respond thoughtfully to employee and leadership concerns
Demonstrate empathy and discretion in sensitive situations
Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work
Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in both remote and on-site environments
Navigates change effectively, including organizational shifts and remote/hybrid work environments
Effective oral and written communication skills
Able to support and engage multi-state teams through virtual and in-person interactions
Preferred
Experience handling complex employee relations matters
Experienced in reporting to and collaborating with remote leadership across state lines
Experience recruiting in the AEC Industry
