Responsibilities
Design and optimize mechanical components of pedestrian and occupant restraint systems
Determine optimal locations and mounting arrangements for transducers and ECUs
Collaborate with the CAE group to develop structures that ensure desired system performance
Support the development of restraint systems, including deployment timing and coordination to minimize injury and ensure legal compliance
Assist in developing and maintaining a database using Python, MySQL, and MATLAB
Contribute to the creation of tools for quantifying injury assessment in real-world scenarios
Provide processed data and insights to other teams to improve impact safety
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
Strong engineering fundamentals background preferably with a strength in passive safety, data acquisition and/or data analysis
Understanding of basic statistics and data science principles
Ability to follow instructions via oral, written, email, and text communication
Capability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment to achieve common goals
Skill in managing multiple priorities, organizing workload, and meeting deadlines
Preferred
Knowledge of database management
Experience with Python 3+
