Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead technical support to the ISC Repair & Overhaul workshop by driving customer service, health, safety and environmental HSE, quality, delivery and cost issues
Lead technical guidance/support for disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing of aircraft products
Drive the global productivity goals for engineering savings through Repair Development, test system improvements, and implementation of standardized processes (i.e., Workscoping)
Review all aspects of the Repair & Overhaul process for standardization opportunities
Develop repair schemes using new and existing repair technology for aircraft and marine components
Identify Workscoping opportunities to improve business performance relating to reliability, quality, process turn time, first pass yield, cost, productivity, and warranty claims
Identify and implement aggressive cost reduction initiatives and identify external business opportunities relating to the Repair & Overhaul business
Partner with our customers to identify and execute actions that solve problems for our customers and drive future growth opportunities
Resolution of problems with a high sense of urgency. Leadership across multiple disciplines using Design for Six Sigma principles
Operate as a team member in Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, and Honeywell Operating System (HOS)
Mentor and coach junior level engineers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
Green belt certified
12 plus years of experience in Aerospace or manufacturing-related fields
5 plus years of Maintenance Repair & Overhaul engineering experience
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
Preferred
Extensive relevant experience in manufacturing engineering
Master's Degree or advanced professional certification
Lean Expert and Blackbelt certifications
Expert knowledge and technical skills in manufacturing processes
Extensive relevant experience working with Commercial airline Customers
Self-motivated Individuals
Ability to consistently demonstrate business impact and continuous drive for improvement
Ability to influence peers and cross-functional teams to deliver optimal outcomes
Ability to consistently make timely decisions in a fast-paced and/or ambiguous environment
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as the position demands the ability to represent the site in technical discussions with customers and/or regulatory agencies
